The 2nd Fit India State Level Cyclothon 2026, organized by the Sports Authority of India North East Region Center in Imphal, has concluded with the aim of promoting the cycling culture and community involvement under the Fit India Movement and Khelo India. The event started at Manipur University and ended at the Khongjom War Memorial Complex.
Distinguished guests including Victoria Yengkhom, IPS; Elangbam Bhubaneswar Singh, Athlete Member Commission of Cycling Federation of India; Dronacharya Awardee Leishangthem Ibomcha; and Padmashree awardee Nameirakpam Kunjarani Devi participated in the prize distribution ceremony. Cyclists with top performances were awarded prizes: the first position received Rs 25,000, second Rs 20,000, and third Rs 15,000, alongside medals and certificates.
In the Men’s Open Category, Khongakpam Gunachand Meitei won first, followed by Leishangthem Bishorjit Singh in second and Nongmaithem Dhananjoy Singh in third. In the Women’s Open Category, Leishangthem Natalie Chanu took first place, with Naorem Deena Devi and Shorensangbam Tanu securing second and third respectively. In the 40+ Men’s Category, first place was captured by Sanasam Chingkheinganba, followed by Md Imtiyaz Rahaman and Ahanthem Dara Singh. For the 40+ Women’s Category, first position went to Chingsubam Sanggai, with Ningthoujam Nutan Devi and Heikrujam Jibolata finishing second and third.
Additionally, ten consolation prizes were awarded in each category to encourage participants. Chief Guest Victoria Yengkhom emphasized the importance of a healthy society and encouraged citizens to maintain their health to contribute positively to the nation.
