With the objective of nurturing young talents and promoting a healthy sporting culture, NN Mangang Wushu Academy celebrated its 3rd Foundation Day at the academy hall located at Turel Achouba Pareng, Moirangthem Leikai, Kakching. The programme was attended by Naorem Sanjitkumar, Caretaker Chairperson of Kakching Municipal Council and President of Kakching District Wushu Association, as the chief guest. Mayanglambam Romesh, President of NN Mangang Wushu Academy, presided over the function. The event was also graced by Ng. Sunita, DYASO Kakching, and Pukhrambam Subashchandra, DYASO Tengnoupal, as guests of honour.
Speaking at the occasion, Naorem Sanjitkumar stated that Manipur is a state with immense potential in the field of sports and has consistently made its mark at the national and international levels. He said that sports not only bring recognition to the state but also help shape the mindset, discipline and character of young people. However, he expressed concern that ongoing social unrest and political disturbances have adversely affected the mental well-being and progress of sportspersons at times. Emphasising the need for collective responsibility, he called upon everyone to work together to nurture talented athletes, build a positive society and encourage young sportspersons with proper guidance and motivation. He also assured that the Kakching Municipal Council, as an Urban Local Body (ULB), would extend all possible support in this regard.
It may be mentioned that Naorem Niroda, founder of NN Mangang Wushu Academy, is currently serving as a police constable and is a dedicated coach who has trained numerous athletes. A former national and international Wushu player, he now serves as a Wushu coach and judge, contributing significantly to the sport in the state. Under his guidance, the academy has produced one international Wushu player, 11 national-level players, and several state-level players from Kakching district.The celebration marked another milestone in the academy’s ongoing efforts to promote Wushu and develop young sporting talents in the region.
