Assam Rifles Begins Pre-Recruitment Training Programme

Assam Rifles has initiated a detailed Pre-Recruitment Training (PRT) programme at the Nambol Garrison in Bishnupur District, aimed at preparing local youth for roles as Agniveers in the Indian Armed Forces and as Constables in the Central Armed Police Forces. Currently, a group of 10 local youths is participating in this complimentary training program, which encompasses essential elements of both physical conditioning and academic preparation, as announced by IGAR(S) in a recent press release.

The comprehensive training module incorporates structured endurance runs, strength training, and medical assessments, alongside theoretical instruction delivered by seasoned instructors. To enhance their physical growth, trainees are supplied with a nutritious diet that includes eggs and milk, ensuring they receive adequate nutrition in support of their training. During the inaugural session of the programme, various officials and personnel engaged with the candidates to elucidate the recruitment processes and to emphasize the significance of discipline and hard work in their pursuit of a military career.

Additionally, the long-term advantages of service within the armed forces were highlighted, such as job security, access to medical facilities, and the honor associated with serving the nation. To further motivate the participants, a film was screened showcasing the perfect success rate achieved by the previous year’s 25 candidates in the programme. The event concluded with a group photograph, symbolizing the commencement of their training journey.
