Marking International Women’s Day, a newly constructed community center with a separate toilet block was inaugurated at N Gangpijang Village, T Yangnom, Tengnoupal District. The project, undertaken under Operation Sadbhavana by Assam Rifles for the Financial Year 2025–26, was formally handed over to the village authorities in the presence of representatives from local Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and villagers, informed IGAR(S) in a press release.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by approximately 40 participants, including village leaders, CSO representatives, and members of the community. The occasion coincided with International Women’s Day celebrations, thereby underscoring the importance of inclusive development initiatives that provide improved sanitation and dedicated social spaces, particularly benefiting women.
The community center has been designed to serve as a focal point for social gatherings, community meetings, educational programs, and developmental activities. The addition of a separate toilet block is expected to significantly enhance hygiene standards and contribute to a healthier environment within the village. The facility is envisaged as a hub for fostering community interaction and supporting collective progress, it added.
