Beyond Stardom: How Motherhood Shaped Sreeleela’s Life Long Before Fame

Actor Sreeleela, recognized for her impressive acting and dancing abilities at the age of 24, revealed in an interview with Galatta Plus that she has three adopted children. Despite not being widely acknowledged for her role as a mother, she shared insights about her family life, a topic she had previously kept private, with only occasional glimpses of her children shared on social media.

Sreeleela addressed inquiries regarding her ability to balance a demanding career and motherhood while raising three children. Initially, she downplayed the question, suggesting that public figures’ positive actions are often ‘exaggerated’ and emphasized her preference for maintaining privacy about her personal life.

She expressed her feelings about her children not living with her, emphasizing that they are well cared for and expressing a desire for them to stay with her. She admitted to feeling emotional, stating, “I fall short of words and get jittery when I talk about it,” and noted that her situation does not fit the traditional concept of motherhood, saying, “I’m not a mother mother because there’s an entirely different story to that.”

In a recent statement, Sreeleela revealed the personal journey behind her decision to adopt children, referencing her early career film “Kiss” from 2019. She explained that her director introduced her to an ashram where the children reside, and she maintains contact with them via phone and visits regularly. Initially, the adoption was kept secret, but the institution encouraged her to share her experience to inspire others to consider similar paths. While she seeks no personal recognition, Sreeleela hopes to motivate more people to explore adoption.

Sreeleela, at the age of 21, adopted two differently-abled children, Guru and Shobhitha, in February 2022. By April 2025, just before turning 24, she welcomed a baby girl into her family. The actor shared her joy on social media with pictures, expressing her emotions by stating, “Addition to the house. Invasion of the hearts. To more suffocating smothering.”

Sreeleela had a productive year in 2025, featuring in films like Robinhood, Junior, and Mass Jathara. Prior to that, she appeared in Guntur Kaaram (2024) and gained recognition for a viral special number titled Kissik in Pushpa 2: The Rule. This Pongal, she will make her Tamil film debut in Sudha Kongara’s Parasakthi alongside Sivakarthikeyan and Ravi Mohan. Additionally, she is set to debut in Hindi with a film by Anurag Basu, featuring Kartik Aaryan, and has a project titled Ustaad Bhagat Singh with Pawan Kalyan in the pipeline.
