District-Level Science Exhibition Held in Kakching

The XLIV (44th) District Level Science Exhibition for students of the Kakching district was held on Wednesday at the Library and Information Centre, Kakching, located at Phoushupat Leikai. The exhibition was organized by the Science Unit of the Zonal Education Office (ZEO), Kakching.

The inaugural function of the exhibition was attended by Zonal Education Officer Kakching, Mayanglambam Rakesh, as the chief of the program, while Deputy Inspector of Schools, ZEO Kakching, Khangembam Binodini Devi attended as the guest of honor.

Students from Class IX to XII participated in the exhibition under the main theme “STEM for Viksit and Atmanirbhar Bharat.” A total of seven students forming six teams from different schools of the Kakching district took part in the exhibition.

In the competition, Mayengbam Aditya of Kakching Higher Secondary School secured the 1st position, while Khumukcham Linthoi Devi of Kakching Khunou High School won the 2nd position. The 3rd position was secured by Elangbam Obed Singh of Langmeidong Higher Secondary School. The 4th position went to Salam Rina Devi of Kakching Khunou High School.

The 5th position was jointly secured by Khumukcham Nganthoi and Pretina Mayanglambam.

Certificates were distributed to the winners and participants. The program coordinator of the district-level science exhibition, Akoijam Nando, stated that the top five winners will represent Kakching district at the upcoming state-level students’ science exhibition.

Speaking at the program, ZEO Kakching Mayanglambam Rakesh stated that the exhibition organized under the theme Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) aims to identify and nurture the scientific talents of students. He added that science plays an important role in human life from birth to death, and such exhibitions provide students an opportunity to expose their ideas and innovations.

He further noted that the program was organized with the objective of strengthening the scientific foundation of school students and encouraging them to contribute to the development of society. Although schools are currently busy with examinations, he urged everyone to work harder to make future exhibitions more successful and to continue promoting the benefits of science for society.
