DRIVERS’ DAY was observed extensively yesterday at many places of Manipur.The main function was held at Thangmeinand Thau – ground,Imphal.
Additional chief secretary, government of Manipur Anurag Bajpai also participated as chief guest there at the main function. In his speech as chief guest at the function, Bajpai expressed that the government was trying to launch a new welfare scheme to uplift the economic condition of our drivers in general. Our drivers play a significant role in the overall development process of the society.Drivers play a significant role in development activities by transporting passengers and various types of goods from one place to another, he added.
Members of All Manipur Road Transport and Motor Workers’ Association paid floral tributes to the photographs of the deceased drivers .
