As part of the ongoing observance of National Road Safety Month 2026 initiative, a free eye check-up camp for all drivers was organised by Office of the Chief Medical Officer at EYE OPD, District Hospital, Churachandpur today. The event was held under the supervision of eye specialist, Dr. Ginthianmung, District Nodal Officer (DNO), National Programme for Control of Blindness and Visual Impairment (NPCB & VI), National Health Mission (NHM), Churachandpur, the camp saw a significant turnout of commercial vehicle drivers who came to get their eyes tested. The doctor mainly checked vision and colour vision, aiming to promote road safety, reduce accidents and saving lives by detecting and addressing vision problems early. During the free eye check-up camp, eye specialist Dr. Ginthianmung emphasised the importance of regular eye examinations for drivers. The doctor advised drivers to priotize their eye health to prevent vision-related accidents and ensure safer roads. The event aimed to promote road safety and ensure drivers’ eye health, ultimately contributing to accident prevention and safer roads in Churachandpur district.
