Eco, Nature Tourism Holds Big Potential, Says Divisional Forest Officer

The Central Forest Division of Manipur conducted a 3-Day Capacity Building Workshop on Hospitality, Wildlife Tourism & Nature Camp Management from March 26 to 28 at Shilheipung Garden, under the RAMP Scheme. The workshop aimed to enhance skills related to eco-tourism and sustainable nature-based enterprises, attended by officials including Vikram Nadhe, Divisional Forest Officer, and other key personnel. Experts from Wildlife Explorers, Brajesh Khoyumthem and Premjith, contributed their knowledge on wildlife tourism and nature camp management. Vikram Nadhe addressed the participants, stressing the importance of forests as ecological assets and job creators, and the potential of eco-tourism in generating sustainable livelihoods for local youth. The workshop covered various tourism aspects, providing practical insights on nature camp management and conservation-aligned tourism enterprises. This initiative served as a knowledge exchange platform, reaffirming the Central Forest Division’s commitment to promoting conservation-linked livelihoods and enhancing local capabilities through such workshops, while appreciating the contributions of the experts.
