Ex-Servicemen Engage with Assam Rifles in Outreach Programme

A significant interaction with Ex-Servicemen (ESM) took place at the Company Operating Base (COB) Ukhrul, organized by Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (South). The event was attended by the Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) and senior officials of Assam Rifles, creating a robust dialogue platform for the veteran community. Thirty-two Ex-Servicemen from the Indian Army and Assam Rifles, representing Ukhrul and nearby villages, participated, sharing their experiences and discussing welfare issues, facility accessibility, and the challenges faced in remote areas. The Inspector General recognized the invaluable contributions of the veterans to the nation and praised their ongoing role in promoting peace and stability. Veterans expressed their concerns regarding welfare measures and access to facilities, which were met with understanding and commitment to seek practical solutions in collaboration with relevant authorities. The interaction was characterized by cordiality, respect, and mutual trust, strengthening the relationship between the security forces and the veteran community.
