Four UG cadres nabbed in separate operations

Security forces conducted multiple operations leading to the arrests of several active cadres from various underground organizations in the Imphal region. Notably, they apprehended Ningthoujam Ningthoungamba Meitei (27), also known as Mangang, at the Imphal International Airport. He hails from Hingol Marup Zenhang Lamka in Churachandpur district and is currently residing at the Kwakta Relief Camp in Bishnupur district. During the arrest, authorities seized a mobile phone, a power bank, and a backpack containing personal clothing.

In a separate incident, Wahengbam Premkumar Singh (37), known as Demba, was arrested at his residence in Khurai Sajor Lairou Pukhri Mapal, Imphal East district. He is associated with the UNLF (P) and is accused of participating in prejudicial activities. Alongside him, Senjam Roken Singh (42), alias Rocket, also from Khurai Chaithabi Leirak Machin, was arrested; he was found in possession of a 9 mm pistol with a magazine, in addition to two mobile phones and an Aadhaar card.

Further arrests included two active cadres affiliated with other insurgent groups. Khwairakpam Bedajit Singh (23), alias Kappa, from Khabam Heibong Makhong, represents the PREPAK organization, while Shagolsem Ibochouba Singh (22), alias Tomba, from Andro Chingdong, is associated with the PLA. These arrests occurred at the Ithing Khola playground under the jurisdiction of Keibul Lamjao police station in Bishnupur district.

Following their disclosures, authorities recovered significant amounts of weaponry and military paraphernalia. This included one HK-33 rifle with a magazine, 38 live rounds of ammunition, three improvised explosive devices (IEDs), and military-style clothing comprising an olive-green T-shirt, camouflage pants, and a camouflage T-shirt recovered from the Takmu lakeside adjacent to the Ithing playground.
