IED Blast Rocks Abandoned House in Bishnupur District; Two Injured

An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast rocked an abandoned house in Saiton area of Bishnupur district in the early hours of Monday, leaving two people—a man and a woman—injured, officials said.
The explosion occurred at around 5:30 am, triggering panic among residents in the otherwise quiet locality. The force of the blast caused significant damage to the deserted structure, with parts of the house reportedly collapsing due to the impact.Soon after the incident, local residents alerted the authorities, following which police and emergency response teams rushed to the spot. The injured individuals were rescued from the site and immediately shifted to a nearby medical facility for treatment. Their identities have not yet been disclosed, and officials said their medical condition is being assessed.
Security forces have cordoned off the area as a precautionary measure, while bomb disposal and forensic teams were deployed to examine the site. Preliminary investigations suggest the use of an IED, though the exact nature and intensity of the explosive device are yet to be officially confirmed.
