The Imphal East Traffic Officer-in-Charge fulfilled a promise by replacing the hood of an auto-rickshaw owned by Laibi Oinam, Manipur’s first woman auto driver. Chief Minister N. Laibi’s journey is one of determination and courage. Once a brick kiln laborer, she took up driving an auto-rickshaw after her husband’s illness left her as the family’s sole breadwinner. Despite societal criticism, she broke barriers in a male-dominated profession, becoming a symbol of empowerment for women in the state.
