Indian Army Conducts Medical Camp in Bishnupur

On the occasion of World Glaucoma Day, the Indian Army conducted a series of medical camps in the Bishnupur District on March 11 and 12, providing essential healthcare services to the residents of remote areas.

Medical camps were organized at Wangusabal and Hautak on March 11, followed by Siden on March 12. During the camps, the army doctors provided medical consultations, basic treatment, and distributed essential medicines to the residents, informed a press release from PRO Defense.

The initiative witnessed an encouraging response, with more than 500 villagers, including women, children, and senior citizens from surrounding areas, receiving the healthcare services.

During the camp, special emphasis was laid on spreading awareness about glaucoma and eye health, highlighting the importance of early detection and timely care.

The camps also encourage the locals to participate in an upcoming “Integrated Multi-Specialty Medical Camp” scheduled to be organized at Ningthoukhong, Molphei Tampak, Sendra, Leisang, Sawongbung, and YKPI, which will offer expanded healthcare services to a larger section of the community, it said.
