International Women’s Day Celebrated Across Districts

The District Administration of Pherzawl, in collaboration with the District Social Welfare Office and the District Programme Officer (ICDS), observed International Women’s Day 2026 at the Deputy Commissioner’s Complex under the theme “Give to Gain.” The program highlighted the significance of empowering women through education, equality, and social justice.

Organized under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) initiative and held under the aegis of the Deputy Commissioner, the event brought together officials, women leaders, students, and community members to commemorate the global occasion. A key highlight of the celebration was the final round of an extemporaneous speech competition among girl students, organized in collaboration with various women’s groups. Winners were awarded cash prizes and certificates, while gifts were also distributed to all women and girls who attended the program.

The celebration concluded with renewed commitment from the district administration and participants to continue promoting women’s empowerment and gender equality in the Pherzawl district.
