The KET (Kakching Educational Trust) Scholarship 2026 distribution ceremony took place at JRD Pathseeker’s Academy on Irengband Road in Kakching. The event, titled “Let’s Help Each Other,” was led by Kshetrimayum Ibobi, President of the District Sports Association (DSA) Kakching, with Kshetrimayum Ranjan, Principal of MMS Genius Academy Kakching, serving as the Chief Guest. A total of 232 students from Kakching, Thoubal, and Chandel Districts, who completed Class VIII and are now in Class IX, participated in the ceremony after passing the KET Test on March 22 and an interview on March 28.
The top scholarship awards, each worth Rs. 10,000, were granted to Tevin Heigrujam from Assam Rifles Public School and Louis Athokpam from Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Umathel. Additionally, Vickey Moirangthem from Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Umathel received the “Mayanglambam Birchandra Singh Memorial KET Scholar” award of Rs. 9,000, while Alex Mayanglambam from Padma Ratna English School Kakching received the “Late Yengkhom Nabakeshor Singh Memorial KET Scholar” award, also valued at Rs. 9,000.
Other notable awards included the Late Ningthoujam Nimai Singh Appreciation Award of Rs. 2,000 awarded to Laitonjam Jetley Meitei from Eureka Academy, along with multiple other merit awards of Rs. 2,000 given to deserving students by various dignitaries. Consolation prizes of Rs. 1,000 each were awarded to several students, including Soibam Devison Singh and Mutum Prakash Singh, among others.
Moreover, specific awards were designated for government school students, with Naorem Helish Singh from Sanatombi High School Keirak and Nongmaithem Malemthoiba from Kakching Higher Secondary School receiving the “Smt. Ksh Apabi Devi Ningshing Mana” award. Notably, Shougaijam Bidyananda and Mayanglambam Ayush from Kakching Higher Secondary School also received cash awards during the ceremony, emphasizing the commitment to fostering educational excellence in the region.
