Kangleipak Communist Party members caught in Manipur Police operation

Manipur Police arrested two active members of the proscribed Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) People’s War Group (PWG) on October 18 in Pureiromba Khongnangmakhong, Imphal East district. The arrested individuals, identified as Mutum Inao Singh (31) and Khwairakpam Rajen Singh (25), were reportedly involved in extorting money from the public and engaging in other illegal operations.

During the operation, law enforcement recovered several items from the suspects, including a two-wheeler, three mobile phones, a sling bag, a wallet, two ID cards, and a sum of ₹7,600. The police action is part of broader efforts to curb illegal activities and maintain law and order in the region.

In addition to the arrests, security forces conducted extensive search operations across both hill and valley districts, reinforcing their presence in fringe and vulnerable areas. Authorities ensured the safe movement of essential goods by facilitating the passage of 301 vehicles along NH-37 and 336 vehicles along NH-2, all under strict security escort.

To bolster security, a total of 111 Nakas (checkpoints) were established throughout Manipur. Remarkably, no detentions for violations were reported during these operations. Enhanced security measures remain in place across sensitive areas to safeguard citizens and prevent further illegal activities.
