Kangpokpi marks NCC Day 2025 with grand celebration, cadets shine in parade and cultural showcase

Kangpokpi district in Manipur came alive with patriotic fervour on Sunday as the District Level NCC Day Celebration 2025 was held at the ADC Hall, bringing together cadets, alumni, officers, and community leaders in a spirited display of unity and discipline. Organised by the NCC Alumni Kangpokpi District, the event highlighted the National Cadet Corps’ enduring role in shaping responsible and service-minded youth. Rajesh Kumar, Deputy Inspector General of Police, CRPF, graced the occasion as Chief Guest, while Kangpokpi Assistant Commissioner Lamminlal Simte attended as Guest of Honour. Henminthang Kipgen, Officer-in-Charge of Kangpokpi Police Station, presided over the function as Functional President.The celebration began with a ceremonial welcome for dignitaries, followed by a well-coordinated March Past, Salute, and the National Anthem. The disciplined proceedings set an inspiring tone for the day.

The formal programme, moderated by Cadet Eunice Lamngailhing Chongloi, featured cultural items, motivational speeches, and honours for outstanding performers. Senior Thangkhanlal Lhouvum delivered a powerful keynote address, stressing the NCC’s vital contribution to nation-building and youth empowerment. The Lighthouse NCC group performed a cultural dance illustrating India’s diversity and unity. Students of Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS), Gamnom Saparmeina, captivated the audience with both a solo performance and a group choreography, reflecting the creativity and dedication developed through NCC activities. One of the highlights of the event was the felicitation of the Best Cadets 2025. Sergeant Lamruthmoi Kipgen of EMRS Gamnom Saparmeina and Cadet Lamnunnem Singson of Lighthouse English School, Kangpokpi, were honoured for exceptional discipline, commitment, and leadership.

Chief Guest Rajesh Kumar commended the cadets for upholding the NCC’s core values of unity, service, and leadership. He described NCC as one of India’s most powerful platforms for youth development and urged cadets to continue striving for excellence. Guest of Honour Simte encouraged students to balance academic pursuits with community service, highlighting the importance of character-building.
