Security forces arrested a militant belonging to proscribed outfit Kangleipak Communist Party (PSC) in Imphal West district while recovering cache of arms and ammunition in a separate operation, a police statement informed on Saturday. One 21-year-old active cadre of the banned Kangleipak Communist Party (PSC) was arrested from Tera Lukram Leirak in Imphal West district on Friday. Security forces during an operation at Chingkhei Ching foothill area in Imphal East district recovered cache of arms and ammunition on Friday. The recovered items include one .303 rifle with magazine, one .22 rifle, one 9 mm SMG carbine with magazine, two No. 36 hand-grenades, one improvised bomb, one WP No. 80 MK-1 Grenade, 57 live rounds ammunition of different calibers, three Lethod shells, two SLR empty cases, four INSAS magazines, one SLR magazine, one Pistol magazine, two tube launchers and two .303 charger clips.
The arrested cadre and the recovered arms and ammunition were handed over to the concerned police stations for necessary proceedings.
