Khongnangthaba University, located in Khurai Konsam Leikai, Imphal East, marked its 5th Foundation Day with a celebratory program attended by dignitaries, faculty, staff, students, parents, and supporters. The event featured prominent guests including Prof. Kiran Hazarika, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Central University of Punjab; Dr. G. Mariappan, Professor and Head at St. Mary’s College of Pharmacy; and Dr. Jawahar J. Shah, a renowned homeopathic physician. The Vice-Chancellor of Khongnangthaba University, Prof. N. Joykumar Singh, served as the President of the function.
The welcome address was presented by Dr. K. Bheigyachandra Singh, Dean of the School of Social Sciences and Humanities, who greeted the audience and honored guests. Following this, Dr. Atom Sunil Singh, the university’s Registrar, delivered a keynote address that provided insights into the institution’s advancements, academic endeavors, and notable achievements.
In his presidential address, Prof. N. Joykumar Singh emphasized the university’s significant academic milestones, illustrating the transition from mere institution-building to achieving impactful research outcomes. After the keynote, two faculty members, Dr. S. Ingotombi (Ringo) Singh from the Department of Geology and Chungkham Yashawanta Singh, a distinguished Manipuri linguistics scholar at the university, also delivered their remarks.
Various speeches were made by the dignitaries in accordance with the scheduled program, culminating in a vote of thanks offered by Dr. L. Imoba Singh, Assistant Registrar. The formal celebration concluded with refreshments provided to attendees, marking a successful 5th Foundation Day for Khongnangthaba University.
