The 16th Foundation Day Celebration of K. Ibotombi Cultural Academy (KICA), located at Charangpat Maklang in Thoubal district, was celebrated at the community hall of Charangpat Maklang Mamang Leikai.
In the event, Vaishnab Pheiroijam Manibabu Singh attended as the chief guest; Guru of Nata Sankirtana Eshei, Lairelakpam Khomei Singh, presided; and Guru of literary composition Ahongsangbam Ghana Singh attended as the guest of honor.
Those who spoke at today’s event praised KICA’s efforts over the past 16 years in promoting the cultural heritage of this region, particularly in N Sankirtana, and other arts such as Pung Cholom, Khubak Eshei, Kaydeva Sheishak, Holi Phangnaba, and Ta Khousarol.
Later, KICA students presented “Raseshori Pala,” which was a production of the academy to the attendees during the event.
In the Pala, Mutum Apollo and Lairelakpam Ruhidas led the Pung, while Laitonjam Pakpi Devi, Kangamab Bisoyai Devi, Hidam Kunjamani Devi, Konsam Tombi Devi, and Sairem Asangbi Devi led the Eshei (songs). Many art lovers participated in today’s event.
