A 28-year-old man has been arrested in Manipur for physically assaulting his wife, authorities confirmed on Monday. The accused, Khaidem Naocha, was taken into custody following a complaint lodged at the Women Police Station, Churachandpur.
According to police, a Zero FIR was initially filed after the victim, 25-year-old Nengneihoi from Tangjeng, Bishnupur, alleged that she was subjected to physical abuse by her husband and his family members. She is currently undergoing treatment at the District Hospital, Churachandpur.
The case has since been formally registered at the Women Police Station, Imphal East District. Investigators arrested Naocha, son of Kh. Jugindro Singh, who originally hails from Tangjeng Ahalup, Bishnupur, but now resides in New Checkon, Imphal East.
