Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh has appealed to the Tangkhul Naga community of Ukhrul district to defuse the tension following incidents of violence and help the State Government in maintaining law and order. The Chief Minister emphasized the need for collective efforts to prevent further escalation in the border district, which witnessed unrest earlier in the day. Expressing concern over the developments, he said he is saddened by the unfortunate incident and added that the violence cannot bring any solution and appealed all to shun any forms of violence. “The Government has taken the development seriously and the law should take its own course,” he added.
Authorities are closely monitoring the situation in Ukhrul district as efforts continue to bring the situation under control. Khemchand also chaired a high-level review meeting with BJP MLAs at the CM’s Secretariat. The session deliberated on strengthening people centric governance and responsive administration, with a clear focus on translating public aspirations into tangible outcomes, said the Chief Minister in a social media post.
