In a fresh effort to improve the situation in Manipur, the Chief Minister has sought a meeting with the Kuki Zo Council (KZC) to discuss steps for restoring peace and normal life in the state.
According to an official communication, the Office of the Chief Minister sent a letter on March 17 to Kuki Zo Council Chairman Henlianthang Thanglet. The letter conveyed the Chief Minister’s request to meet Thanglet along with other members of the Council.
The meeting has been proposed for March 21 in Guwahati, Assam. Officials said the discussion will focus on finding ways to bring back peace and normalcy in Manipur, which has been facing ethnic tensions for a long time.
The letter, issued by Secretary to the Chief Minister Neilenthang Telien, formally invited the Council for the talks and requested an early confirmation. “The Chief Minister wishes to have a meeting with you and other members of the Kuki Zo Council,” the communication stated.
