Dhurandhar advance booking has commenced ahead of its release, featuring Ranveer Singh. Initial pre-sales for the first weekend began on a Monday with 2,000 shows available, which were later increased due to high demand. The response was intense in the first few hours, although it started to diminish as the day progressed.
The advance bookings for the film Dhurandhar surpassed ₹1 crore gross within hours of the opening day, reaching over ₹1 crore in pre-sales by Monday evening. However, following this initial surge, the momentum decreased significantly. By Tuesday afternoon, the film managed to add only ₹35 lakh, resulting in a total first-day gross of approximately ₹1.4 crore and just over ₹2 crore for the entire opening weekend. Notably, the average ticket price for both regular and IMAX versions is relatively high at around ₹310.
The demand for tickets for Ranveer Singh’s film remains strong despite high prices. Premium tickets at INOX Maison in Mumbai’s BKC, priced at ₹1620, are already sold out for Friday. In non-metro areas like Gurgaon, many premium tickets are also priced at over ₹1500, and these shows are continuing to sell out.
Dhurandhar is expected to surpass the advance booking collections of Ranveer’s previous film, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, which recorded nearly ₹4 crore in pre-sales in 2023. However, it faces tough competition from major action and spy thriller films released this year. War 2, benefiting from the popularity of Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR, achieved advance bookings over ₹20 crore earlier this year. A closer comparison, Chhaava, garnered pre-sales of ₹13.80 crore for its first day. While Dhurandhar aims to exceed the ₹10-crore threshold, this goal currently seems challenging. Despite this, trade analysts remain optimistic about the film’s potential at the box office.
Dhurandhar, directed by Aditya Dhar, stars Ranveer Singh as an Indian spy who infiltrates the gangs in Pakistan’s Lyari, drawing inspiration from real events and featuring actual figures from Pakistan’s contemporary history. The film includes a strong supporting cast featuring Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Akshaye Khanna, and Sara Arjun. It is scheduled to be released in theaters on December 5.
