In a significant development for the pig farming sector in the State, Yen-Kon Agro inaugurated a new distributor outlet for the European premium pig feed “Swiss Highland” at Taothong Apheiba, Lamsang Kendra. Local MLA Sorokhaibam Rajen emphasized the initiative’s potential to enhance pig farming productivity by providing quality feed, which would ultimately improve livestock health and output for farmers. He raised concerns over transportation challenges caused by frequent highway blockades that disrupt essential goods’ supply and stressed the importance of strengthening local production systems to reduce reliance on external resources. Addressing infrastructure issues, Rajen mentioned ongoing efforts to improve road connectivity within the constituency, including plans for proper drainage system construction along key roads to alleviate waterlogging from April to May. He appealed for public cooperation during the construction phase, acknowledging possible temporary inconveniences while assuring that these improvements would enhance public convenience and foster overall development in the area.
