A newly constructed community hall at Kokchai Makha Leikai under the Mayang Imphal Assembly Constituency was inaugurated by the local MLA, Kongkham Robindro Singh. The community hall was built under the MLA Local Area Development (MLALAD) Fund and has been formally handed over to the public. The inauguration programme was attended by several prominent individuals, including social worker Abujam Yaima Singh as the chief guest and President of Bharatiya Janata Party Mayang Imphal Mandal, Irom Rabi Singh, as a special invitee, along with local leaders and residents. Speaking at the f unction, MLA Kongkham Robindro Singh stated that the Meitei community has a rich tradition of organizing various social, cultural, and religious events in unity and harmony. He emphasized that maintaining unity and mutual understanding among different communities is essential for peaceful coexistence in the State.
He further said that since ancient times, under the leadership of kings, the people of Manipur have lived together in peace and mutual respect. He urged the people, especially the younger generation, to uphold this tradition of unity and harmony among different communities. The MLA also expressed concern that if the Meitei community does not remain united and progressive, its population and influence may decline in the coming decades, while other communities continue to advance. He called upon the people to remain vigilant and united, stressing the need for collective efforts and a strong sense of solidarity for a better future.
