Poster Drive Marks 46th Realization Month

The All Manipur Students’ Union (AMSU) launched a poster campaign in connection with the 46th Realisation Month observance, which commenced on March 17.

Talking to media persons, AMSU President Lukram Malangba said that the poster campaign was launched with the objective of creating awareness among the public about key issues pertaining to the state and its indigenous population. He expressed deep concern over the influx of illegal immigrants into the state and other parts of the country for the last many years.

Demanding the government implement the NRC before conducting the census in the state, he said that without updating the NRC and fixing 1951 as the base year, the identity and rights of indigenous people cannot be protected.

The campaign includes seven different slogans focusing on safeguarding indigenous rights.

He appealed to all sections of society, including students and the public, to actively participate in the campaign, which will be carried out across various locations during the observance of Realization Month.
