Prof Romi Elected Second Vice District Governor of Lions International District

Lion Prof. N. Romi Singh was warmly received and felicitated by members of the Lions fraternity of Manipur at the Imphal International Airport following his historic election at the 47th Mahabahu Annual Conference of Lions International District 322D. The conference was held at the Khagendra Mahanta Auditorium, Nagaon, Assam, and was attended by more than 550 Lion delegates from Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, and Manipur. During the election held on February 22 through a secret ballot, Lion Prof. N. Romi Singh was elected as the Second Vice District Governor for the Lions Year 2026–27. He created a historic record by securing 100 pc votes from all 120 eligible Lion voters representing clubs under District 322D — a rare and remarkable achievement in the district’s history.

Alongside him, Lion Dr. Neena Dutta of Dimapur was elected as District Governor, and Lion Shankar Routh of Golaghat was elected as First Vice District Governor for the Lions Year 2026–27. Lion Prof. N. Romi Singh currently serves at the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS). His unanimous election reflects the strong confidence and trust reposed in his leadership by the Lions fraternity across the district.

Lions International District 322D comprises Upper Assam, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, and Manipur, with over 3,000 members across 80 clubs. Globally, Lions Clubs International is one of the largest service organizations in the world, with over 1.4 million members in more than 49,000 clubs across over 200 countries and geographic areas. Members of the Lions community in Manipur described the achievement as a proud and historic moment for the state and expressed confidence that his leadership will further strengthen service initiatives and unity across the district.
