Rashmika Mandanna commented on Deepika Padukone’s alleged an 8-hour shift for Spirit, stating, ‘It’s reasonable that

A significant debate is currently circulating in Bollywood. No, it is not the notorious nepotism discussion. We are referring to the conversation regarding 8-hour shifts on film sets. This issue gained attention approximately a month ago when actress Deepika Padukone withdrew from Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s upcoming film. Allegedly, one of the reasons for DP’s departure was the denial of her request for an 8-hour work shift as a new mother. Following these reports, Sandeep announced actress Triptii Dimri as the female lead opposite Prabhas. Since then, numerous celebrities have expressed their opinions on the matter. The most recent star to weigh in is actress Rashmika Mandanna, who also collaborated with Sandeep in the Ranbir Kapoor-starring film (2023).

In a recent conversation with Mojo Story, National Crush Rashmika Mandanna addressed the discussion surrounding the 8-hour work shift. She remarked, “Currently, as the debate unfolds, I recognize that many individuals hold strong opinions on the matter, and justifiably so. However, it is reasonable to approach your director and say, ‘This is the timeframe I wish to work within. Is this feasible?’” Rashmika further elaborated, “Certainly, this is a personal debate for many. Yet, to shed some light on the situation, there are far more severe circumstances where individuals are working for 2–3 days straight without returning home, and without even a brief moment to rest.

Rashmika further shared her experience of working in different industries. She revealed that in the South, actors work a 9 am to 6 pm shift, much like office hours. Meanwhile in Hindi cinema, Rashmika has experienced a 9 am to 9 pm shift. She went on to add, “It’s 12 working hours so now as an actor, I am open to both of these working hours because this is what my firm requires.”
