Ranbir Kapoor is embroiled in controversy following a video that challenges prior claims about him abandoning non-vegetarian food and alcohol for his role as Lord Ram in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana. Earlier reports suggested he adopted a sattvic lifestyle, quitting smoking and committing to meditation and early workouts to embody Lord Ram’s spiritual and physical essence.
However, a new video has raised questions about previous claims. The footage is from Dining With The Kapoors, honoring Raj Kapoor’s centenary. In it, Armaan Jain serves Fish Curry Rice and Junglee Mutton to the entire Kapoor family, which includes Ranbir, Neetu, Kareena, Karisma, Rima Jain, Saif Ali Khan, and other relatives at the table.
The video went viral, sparking debate on social media, where users criticized Ranbir Kapoor’s publicity team for allegedly misrepresenting his lifestyle for promotion. One post highlighted a contradiction, stating that his PR claimed he stopped eating non-vegetarian food to respect his role as Lord Ram in the Ramayana, yet he was seen dining on fish curry, mutton, and paya with his family.
Another user criticized the planning of Bollywood actors’ PR teams, specifically targeting RK and Alia Bhatt. They argued that the teams fail to research their clients’ past videos before making exaggerated claims, such as leaving non-veg and drinks for a role, suggesting that keeping silent would have avoided the current backlash.
Anticipation for Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana is growing, featuring Ranbir Kapoor as Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, and Sunny Deol and Ravie Dubey as Hanuman and Laxman. The cast also includes Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, Arun Govil, Kunal Kapoor, Adinath Kothare, Sheeba Chaddha, and Indira Krishnan. Reports indicate that the film’s first installment has completed editing.
