THADOU INPI SUPPORTS POPULAR GOVERNMENT

Thadou Inpi Manipur has expressed its full support to the formation of a new popular government in Manipur.
The body said that MLAs represent the people of their Assembly constituencies. If an elected MLA deviates from his or her duty of participation in the popular government of the state, he or she has better to resign immediately. Those 10 MLAs who have been demanding “Separate Administration,” should resign first before their demand, said the body.
Recently, a joint meeting of Kuki CSOs , SoO (Suspension of Operations) groups and MLAs was held in Guwahati, reiterating their demand for a Union Territory (UT) with a Legislature for the Kuki -Zo people in Manipur.They also re-affirmed their stand of political non-participation in any new Manipur government unless a written, time-bound commitment for this settlement is secured.
In a significant move, only five MLAs turned up and participated at the meeting.MLAs belonging to Thadou community didn’t participate there. This shows the full support of Thadou MLAs and people in a new popular government in Manipur, said the Thadou Inpi, Manipur.
