On a recent operation, security forces in Imphal East district arrested two individuals linked to extortion activities associated with the KCP (PWG) group. The first suspect, Moirangthem Jiten Singh alias Nanao (46), was apprehended in Kongba Laishram Leikai, where a mobile phone was seized. Concurrently, Thokchom Devarani Devi (43), another extortionist and female cadre of the KCP (PWG), was arrested at her residence in Kongba Makha Ucheckon, with a mobile phone also recovered. Additionally, Thoudam Jingko Singh alias Sanathoi (25) of the PREPAK group was arrested in the Thoubal district; police recovered two live rounds of 7.62×39 mm ammunition, another mobile phone with a SIM card, and a Honda Activa scooter during his detention. To facilitate the safe movement of essential goods, authorities ensured the movement of 155 vehicles along NH-37 and implemented strict security measures across vulnerable locations, creating 114 checkpoints in various districts of Manipur, though no detentions occurred during this process.
