Workshop Highlights Need for Strong Industry–Academia Collaboration

A workshop on the Prashan Mantri National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (PM-NAPS 2.0) took place at Union Model High School, Komlathabi, Chandel, organized by the Directorate of Craftsmen Training, Government of Manipur. Aimed at promoting apprenticeship and skill development in the North Eastern Region, the event gathered students, officials, and industry representatives, fostering an engaging educational atmosphere. Among the distinguished guests were Priya N. Mutuwa, Headmistress of Union Model High School, who provided the keynote address, followed by talks from B. Ankush of North East Brothers Ent. Pvt. Ltd., and Ngangbam Iboyaina Meetei, Principal of Govt. Industrial Training Institute (ITI) Chandel. These speakers underscored the significance of apprenticeships and collaboration between industry and education for improving employability.

The workshop included informative sessions covering the apprenticeship landscape, an overview of PM-NAPS 2.0, and the registration procedures for candidates and establishments. Interactive Q&A sessions allowed participants to clarify doubts and receive practical advice. The event concluded with remarks from Sh. Bedajit Sharma and a vote of thanks from Ngangbam Iboyaima Meetei. With over 96 students attending, the workshop effectively illustrated the benefits of PM-NAPS 2.0, stressing the importance of industry-academia partnerships in enhancing career prospects. The Directorate of Craftsmen Training expressed gratitude to attendees, special guests, and Union Model High School for their support in making the event successful.
