Manipur People’s Democratic Front Celebrates Second Foundation Day

The second foundation day of the Manipur People’s Development Foundation (MPDF) was celebrated at Salungfam Mamang Ching in Thoubal district. The foundation, which was established with the objective of nurturing responsible youth and building a self-reliant society, marked the occasion with various activities and speeches. The programme was attended by MPDF advisor Th. Manihar, MPDF President Pebam Bishambhor, Dr. K. Indrakumar Singh of the Political Science Department, Dhanamanjuri University, and Ima Keithel President Ema Memma Devi as presidium members. Delivering the keynote address, MPDF General Secretary Arunjit Ningthouja stated that the foundation was formed with the aim of guiding and empowering youth who are facing challenges in society. He said MPDF is working to instill a sense of responsibility among young people so that they can love their motherland and lead a dignified life through unity and collective effort.

As part of its ongoing initiatives, MPDF has begun cultivating dragon fruit at Salungfam Mamang Ching.Rearing of hens, ducks and pigs are also being taken up.In addition, vocational training programmes, including food processing and related skill development activities, are being provided to local residents. He further informed that MPDF units have been established in Salungfam, Langol, Tentha, Heirok, Charangpat, Khangabok, Jiribam, and Keithelmanbi. A major project is also being planned at Ningel in the near future. The organization appealed to all sections of society for support and cooperation in its mission. Speaking at the event, MPDF Advisor Th. Manihar said that we should find out who are the real friends and who are our enemies,it is the time to stand together in unity. He emphasized that all our Indeginous Tribes in Manipur must strengthen bonds of friendship and work collectively for peace and development. He added that MPDF’s mission is to guide youth towards becoming responsible citizens and to build a united and progressive Manipur.

Ema Memma Devi, President of Ima Keithel, also addressed the gathering. She stated that in the present situation prevailing in the state, mothers are deeply concerned about the future of their children. She stressed that it is not the time for division but for unity and collective action to safeguard the younger generation. The programme concluded with the distribution of gifts to MPDF leaders, representatives of various student bodies, Meira Paibi groups, local village leaders, and the Village Chief of Maryland village.
Leaders of different civil society organizations, members of Meira Paibi groups from various areas, and numerous MPDF unit members attended the celebration.
