Awareness Drive Held to Sensitize IDPs on CM’s Entrepreneurship Support Scheme

A one-day awareness programme on the Chief Minister’s Entrepreneurship Support Scheme (CMESS) was held at the INA Auditorium Hall in Moirang, organized by the Planning Department and the District Administration Bishnupur. Targeting Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the area, the programme outlined significant aspects of CMESS, including 100% coverage under CGTMSE and MCGS, collateral-free loans, and the absence of third-party guarantor requirements.

Deputy Commissioner Pooja Elangbam expressed gratitude to the banking sector and Planning Department for facilitating the event and emphasized that entrepreneurship can thrive without substantial capital, highlighting the importance of determination and clear ideas. She encouraged participants to analyze market demands and develop sustainable business strategies. The government offers various subsidies and loans to support business development and urged IDPs to leverage these opportunities.

Elangbam specifically mentioned the government’s focus on empowering women aged 18 to 60 through special packages available for Self Help Groups (SHGs) that meet specific criteria. She motivated participants to produce genuine, quality products and utilize the benefits of the scheme, noting that 111 IDPs had already received assistance under CMESS. She encouraged attendees to maximize their learning from the programme, covering all aspects from planning to execution, including necessary documentation.

The event featured interactions between participants and presidium members, who clarified various topics regarding the schemes. Notable attendees included Dr. R.K. Radhesana Devi, Director (Planning); SDO Moirang Chirom Somerendro; Dr. Uttam Luwang, LDM of SBI; and Roshnikumar Yambem, Director of Globizs Web Solutions Pvt. Ltd.
