2 Assam men nabbed with drugs worth Rs 12.5 crore in Manipur

Security forces in Manipur arrested two men from Assam and seized narcotics valued at approximately Rs 12.5 crore in an operation conducted in Jiribam district. The suspects, Rajib Hussain Mazumder and Sahar Alom Mazumder, were caught transporting about 50,000 tablets marked WY/R, weighing 5.185 kilograms. This intervention was a collaborative effort involving the Manipur Police, Central Reserve Police Force, and Assam Rifles. Former Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh commended the operation on social media, emphasizing the importance of collective efforts to combat drug trafficking and safeguard the future of the youth in Manipur. The police are continuing their investigation as part of intensified anti-narcotics initiatives across the state.
