92nd Solidarity Day of Zeliangrong people observed

The 92nd Solidarity Day of the Zeliangrong people was solemnly observed today at the Zeliangrong Union Head office, Kakhulong, Paona Bazar, Imphal. The event brought together a large gathering of community leaders, government officials, and members of the Zeliangrong community in a spirit of unity, remembrance, and cultural pride.
The observance marked a significant occasion to reaffirm the enduring bond and solidarity among the Zeliangrong people. The programne highlighted the importance of preserving the rich cultural heritage, traditions, and identity of the community while promoting peace, harmony, and collective progress.
Distinguished speakers at the event emphasized the historical significance of Solidarity Day and encouraged the younger generation to uphold the values of unity, integrity, and mutual respect. They also called for continue cooperation among all sections of society for the overall development and well-being of the Zeliangrong people.
In addition, strong appeals were made during the program to put an immediate end to factional clashes among underground outfits and to pursue peaceful negotiations as the only viable path forward. The gathering expressed deep concern that continued conflict has adversely affected peace, stability, and development in the region.
Speakers also highlighted that the lack of unity among the kindred tribes of the Zeliangrong-Zeme, Liangmai, Rongmei/ Kabui, and Inpui-has been a major hurdle to peace efforts, development, and sustainable progress. The need of the hour, they stressed, is to prioritize dialogue, mutual understanding, and reconciliation to bridge existing divides.
The gathering collectively called upon all stakeholders to foster a renewed sense of shared purpose, strengthen unity among the Zeliangrong people, and work tirelessly to ensure lasting peace, stability, and inclusive development in the region.
The observance concluded with a renewed commitment from all attendees to strengthen solidarity and work collectively towards a brighter and more inclusive future of Zeliangrong.
