Manipur Police and central paramilitary forces assist the Indian Army and Assam Rifles and conducted a significant crackdown on armed organizations in a number of Manipur districts between June 8 and June 15 through a series of coordinated intelligence-based operations. During operations that covered both hill and valley districts, including Thoubal, Churachandpur, Kakching, Tengnoupal, Imphal East, and Imphal West, four cadres were apprehended, and 23 weapons, 10 IEDs, grenades, and a significant amount of ammunition and other war-related supplies were seized.
Assam Rifles and BSF carried out one of the most important operations in Mission Veng, Moreh (Tengnoupal), recovering two makeshift mortars. Joint Assam Rifles and Manipur Police teams found five firearms, including a 9mm handgun and a .303 rifle, in the Ikop Pat neighborhood of Thoubal on June 12. On the same day, four additional weapons and ammo were found in the forests between the villages of T Lamlai and Kuvan in Churachandpur by another combined team. Imphal East saw additional recoveries, including the seizure of three guns from Champhai.
Ten IEDs, two pistols, and a 9mm carbine were found by forces working in the Tengnoupal sector on June 13. On June 14, the Indian Army, Assam Rifles, and Manipur Police discovered a secret stash in the Chairel Khunou neighborhood of Kakching that contained four firearms, six kilograms of explosives, grenades, and other items. This was a huge haul. Two more firearms and ammo were seized during another operation that day in Thayong Hill, Imphal East. The four people in custody have been turned over to the Manipur Police, along with the explosives and firearms that were seized.
