Assam Rifles Conducts Security Coordination Meetings With Naga And Kuki CSOS To Strengthen Peace In Manipur

Assam Rifles convened a series of security coordination meetings with Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) and village authorities of the Naga and Kuki communities, reaffirming its impartial role in fostering peace and stability across sensitive districts of Manipur.At Shalluk in Chandel District, representatives from eight Naga CSOs and seven Kuki CSOs engaged in open dialogue with Assam Rifles personnel. The meeting was organised amidst prevailing tensions between the two communities, providing a constructive platform to build confidence and address pressing security concerns. Assam Rifles emphasised unity, restraint and cooperation to prevent misinformation and avoid escalation. CSO representatives shared their perspectives and suggestions, underscoring the need for sustained dialogue and collective responsibility to restore normalcy and strengthen inter-community relations.
Further interactions were held at Chassad and Somsai in Ukhrul and Kamjong Districts, focusing on the situation in Litan and nearby areas. Representatives from five Kuki CSOs, seven Naga CSOs, village authorities and community leaders participated. Discussions centred on preventing escalation, curbing rumours, strengthening coordination and ensuring protection of innocent civilians. Community leaders acknowledged the importance of trust and communication, assuring their cooperation in diffusing tensions and discouraging activities that could disturb peace.
Across both meetings, Assam Rifles reiterated its commitment to impartiality, humanitarian values and safeguarding all communities without bias. The engagements concluded on a positive note, with all stakeholders reaffirming their resolve to work together in the larger interest of security, stability and development. These initiatives highlight the proactive approach of Assam Rifles in promoting dialogue, trust and long-term peace among diverse communities in Manipur.
