According to officials, Assam Rifles held a number of effective outreach programs in a number of highland districts as a heartfelt homage to Women’s Equality Day. According to a defense spokesperson, the programs were created to recognize women’s efforts, advance gender equality, and encourage grassroots empowerment, particularly in isolated and border areas in the districts of Kakching, Chandel, and Tengnoupal. Assam Rifles organized a day-long program focused on women’s welfare in the border villages of Chandel District, including Sehlon, Toitung, Aibol Joupi, Old Samtal, Phoilen, Kovang, and New Samtal, he said, marking the beginning of the festivities. Women, young people, and students from the village enthusiastically participated in the event.
A women-focused medical camp, health, education, and self-reliance awareness classes, as well as an energetic empowerment rally, were among the events. Carrying signs and singing slogans that reflected the demand for equality and dignity, riflewomen marched alongside local women and young people. A poster campaign and “A Day with Riflewomen” initiative promoted gender parity and camaraderie among local women. A volleyball match showcased sportsmanship and mutual respect. A mass tree plantation drive and a motivational film on women’s empowerment were also held. Assam Rifles also conducted a Self-Defence Capsule for girls in Kakching District.
