In a major drug seizure, Manipur Police arrested one Md. Sabir Ahmed (46) of Lilong Nungei, Thoubal district from North AOC area under Imphal-PS, Imphal West district. From his possession, 15.556 kg of brown sugar and a TATA truck were seized. On the other hand, security forces arrested two individuals from New Checkon, Tribal Market under Porompat-PS, Imphal East district, along with heroin .The arrested persons have been identified as Md. Mustaque Ahmed (28) of Golapati Mayai Leikai, Imphal East district and Raj Khan (28) of Khelakhong Mayai Leikai, Thoubal district.
From their possession, 15 soap cases of Heroin No. 4 weighing about 417 grams, and one two-wheeler, Honda Dio DLX were recovered. Manipur Police also arrested two residents of Andro along with DIC liquor from Sugnu bazar area under Sugnu-PS, Kakching district: They have been identified as Yumkhaibam Jenish Singh (22) and Puthem Nanao Singh (19). From their possession, 500 litres of DIC liquor, and a four-wheeler, A-Star bearing registration number MN-01W-9278 were recovered
