BBBP Mentorship Connect Launched in Churachandpur

The District Administration of Churachandpur today launched BBBP Mentorship Connect, a dedicated online mentorship platform under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao initiative, at Churachandpur College (Autonomous). The launch was held as part of the International Women’s Week celebrations being observed in the district from March 8 to 14. The event was organized by the Women Empowerment Committee of Churachandpur College, in collaboration with the District Administration under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) programme. The initiative was conceptualized under the guidance of Shri Dharun Kumar S, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Churachandpur, and operationalized by Teresa Tangpua, Jr. MCS/Branch Officer, BBBP, Office of the Deputy Commissioner.

Speaking at the launch event, Deputy Commissioner Dharun Kumar S said that the platform, designed as an all-women, safe and empowering digital space, seeks to connect women leaders and professionals from diverse fields with students and young women in need of mentorship. He noted that mentors would engage with mentees based on areas of expertise and interest, offering career counselling, guidance, and opportunities for personal development.

A notable feature of the platform is the “Safe Channel”, which allows girl students to confidentially report harassment, share grievances, and seek assistance. The mechanism ensures that concerns are securely received and addressed by the appropriate authorities, thereby strengthening the district’s support ecosystem for young women.

The platform has been developed in collaboration with local IT start-up BuildnBIT Private Limited, spearheaded by John Pautanlian Guite and his team, reflecting the district’s commitment to fostering local innovation and technical talent.

Women mentors from across the globe can register on the portal, enabling students in Churachandpur to gain exposure to diverse professional experiences and global perspectives. The District Administration has invited educational institutions, women professionals, and students to actively participate in the initiative to further the vision of empowering girls and promoting gender equality.
