Bharat Mandapam hosts International AI Summit as PM Modi welcomes leaders

At the ongoing India AI Impact Summit 2026, which brought together international leaders in technology and artificial intelligence (AI) policies in the nation’s capital, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended a cordial welcome to a number of world leaders at Bharat Mandapam. The dignitaries who were received included President Pedro Sanchez Perez-Castejon of Spain, President Peter Pellegrini of the Slovak Republic, Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov of Kazakhstan, Prime Minister Petteri Orpo of Finland, President Anura Kumara Dissanayake of Sri Lanka, and President Alar Karis of Estonia.

Mauritius Prime Minister Navinchandra Ramgoolam, Bhutanese Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay, Seychelles Vice President Sebastien Pillay, Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, and Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic were also welcomed by Prime Minister Modi. Vice Presidents Edmand Lara Montano of Bolivia and Bharrat Jagdeo of Guyana, as well as Antonio Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations, and Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, represented international institutions.

The India AI Impact Summit 2026, held from February 16–20 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, highlights India’s leadership in global AI, innovation, and digital transformation. Anchored on the pillars of People, Planet, and Progress, the summit brings together over 20 Heads of State, 60 Ministers, and 500 global AI leaders. It aims to foster AI-driven solutions, economic growth, sustainable development, and technology partnerships. The Prime Minister inaugurated the India AI Impact Expo 2026 and will deliver the inaugural address on February 19, emphasizing inclusive, trusted, and development-oriented AI under the IndiaAI Mission and Digital India initiative.
