The 39th and 40th blood donation camps organised by the Green Brigade Foundation Manipur were held at the Department of Transfusion Medicine, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Lamphel, and at the Shija Blood Centre of Shija Hospitals, Langol, respectively. The camps were organised in remembrance of the death anniversary of Late Ningthoujam Ibomcha Singh, father of Ningthoujam Darshan Singh of Toubul Awang Leikai, Bishnupur district. The blood donation camps were conducted in collaboration with Life Savers Manipur, the Shija Blood Centre, Langol, and the Department of Transfusion Medicine, RIMS. A total of 30 voluntary blood donors from different parts of Manipur donated blood during the camps. Of them, 12 donors, including one female donor, donated blood at Shija Blood Centre, while 18 donors donated at RIMS. It may be mentioned that due to the frequent shortage of blood in Manipur, Green Brigade Foundation Manipur has been actively organizing voluntary blood donation drives in association with various organizations at different blood centers across the state. The Foundation has appealed to the public to come forward and voluntarily donate blood on such significant occasions to help save lives.
