Medanta Hospital Gurgaon has made a significant impact in breast cancer awareness with its newly launched film, Banno Ki Rasm, which has already garnered over 8 million views across social media platforms. The 2-minute 28-second film, part of Medanta’s “Jaanta Hai Medanta” initiative, reimagines the self-breast exam as a tradition of strength and self-care, urging women to adopt it as a monthly ritual.
Dr. Naresh Trehan, Chairman & Managing Director of Medanta, emphasized the importance of empowering women and breaking the stigma surrounding breast cancer. “Women are the backbone of a progressive society… Through this film, Medanta addresses a key health concern while promoting awareness,” he said. Dr. Kanchan Kaur, Senior Director of Breast Cancer at Medanta, added that early detection through regular self-exams and screenings significantly improves treatment outcomes.
Health experts and local women’s groups have welcomed the campaign, noting increased discussions in markets, workplaces, and social circles about breast health. Retail outlets in the city, including pharmacies and wellness centers, reported higher inquiries about preventive check-ups and informational resources after the film’s release, reflecting a growing public consciousness on women’s health.
