Chief Minister Y Khemchand today chaired a meeting of the Organizing Committee of the Shirui Festival 2026 at the Secretariat. The Shirui Lily Festival 2026 is an annual 5-day state-level event in Ukhrul district being held to celebrate the blooming of the rare, endangered Shirui Lily flower. Organized by the Manipur Tourism Department, it features cultural performances, rock concerts, traditional, and ecological awareness programs
In a social media post, Chief Minister Khemchand said, “Chaired a meeting of the Organizing Committee of the Shirui Festival 2026 today at the Secretariat, attended by Hon’ble MLAs and senior officials. The meeting deliberated in detail on the modalities and comprehensive preparations to ensure the successful conduct of the festival”.
“Emphasized that the Shirui Festival must serve as a vibrant platform to strengthen communal harmony and foster deeper integration between the hill and valley districts. Reiterated our government’s commitment to promoting and preserving our rich indigenous culture and traditions, while showcasing Manipur’s unique heritage to the world,” the Chief Minister said.
