CM Lays State Human Rights Commission’s Annual Report in Manipur Assembly

Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh presented the Annual Report (2021–22) of the Manipur Human Rights Commission during the Fifth Sitting of the Seventh Session of the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly. He highlighted the efficient progression of discussions and voting on the Demands for Grants, signaling the Assembly’s dedication to the welfare and development of the state. Singh introduced the Manipur Money Lenders Bill, 2026, aimed at enhancing the regulation of money lending practices and fostering financial inclusivity within the state. Despite some disruptions, the previous 4th Sitting of the Assembly also saw smooth discussions regarding the Demands for Grants. The Chief Minister expressed gratitude to all Assembly Members, both in-person and virtual, for their efforts in maintaining order during proceedings. He addressed both Starred and Unstarred Questions, asserting that the clarifications given were effective in responding to the Members’ concerns. Singh emphasized the Assembly’s constructive participation and dignified behavior as indicative of strong democratic values and a united commitment to serve the people of Manipur.
