Congress leader’s residence comes under bomb attack

A bomb planted by unidentified miscreants exploded at the residential gate of a Congress leader in Imphal East district on Wednesday.
The explosion took place at the residence of Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee Labour Department chairman Toijam Lokendro located at Kongpal Ningthoubung in Imphal East district at around 10.30 pm on Tuesday night.
No one was injured during the blast. On Wednesday morning, police and forensic sciences officials conducted a spot investigation at the blast site.
No organisation has claimed responsibility for the blast till the time of filing this report.
Meanwhile, CLP leader Keisham Meghachandra has strongly condemned the bomb exploison at the residence of Toijam and asserted that such blast at high-security zone raises question about law and order situation in Imphal.
In a post on X, Keisham Meghachandra said, “I strongly condemn the bomb threat and explosion that occurred around 12:04 AM at the residence of our Congress leader and Chairman, Labour Department, Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee, Shri Toijam Lokendro Singh, in Kongpal Ningthoubung Leikai under Khurai constituency Imphal East.”

He also demanded that the culprits must be arrested immediately, and the government must ensure the safety and security of both public leaders and civilians without delay.
