First-Ever Luangchum Kamsuan Clan Meet Organised at Imphal

The Luangchum Kamsuan Clan held its first-ever get-together at Luangchum Village in Noney district today under the theme “Know Thy Root.” The event brought together clan members from various parts of Manipur and Nagaland for a day of reflection, celebration, and fellowship.The gathering began with the hoisting of the Clan Flag by Pou Norbert Disinang Kamson, IAS (Retd), followed by an invocation of blessings led by Rev. Fr. Tinglung Francis Kamson SDB, Chaplain of the Family of Faith. In his welcome address, Pou Kadi Anthony Kamsuan, President of the Luangchum Kamsuan Clan, warmly greeted members and set the tone for the day’s celebration.The speakers of the event touched upon various aspects of the clan’s heritage and values. Pou Gaihomlung Kamsuan, the Pakhanglak of Luangchum, delivered a talk on “Kamsuan Clan and Totem.” Pou Sagongam Kamsuan, Vice President of the clan, spoke on its “History and Statistics,” while Pou Norbert Disinang Kamson IAS (Retd) elaborated on the theme “Know Thy Root.” Other insightful talks included Pou Lunghiamnang Joseph’s reflections on “Relationship between Siblings” and Kaipui Lukinliu Kamsuan’s address on “Role of the Clan Housewife.” Among the notable attendees were Pou Kabilan, the eldest member of the Kamsuan Clan of Luangchum origin, Pou Poupangai Kamei, the Khunbu, Pou Guikhamlak Kamei, the Attorney Chairman, Pou Thudunnang Gonmei, President of the Gonmei Clan, and Pou Merachao Kamson from Sangaiprou. The gathering also featured exhortations from Dr. Stephen Kamsuan IRHS, Pou Joseph Pauline Kamsuan IAS, Pou Kenan Kamsuan from Longmai, and Pouhuamlung Kamson from Sangaiprou. As part of the day’s proceedings, attendees observed a minute’s silence in honour of departed clan members. Other highlights included the release of a clan souvenir, choreographic performances, songs, felicitations, and prayer sessions. The reunion offered members a chance to reconnect, rediscover their shared roots, and reflect on their genealogy—fostering a renewed sense of unity and strengthening the bonds within the Luangchum Kamsuan family.
